Mantos Blancos is 45 kilometres from the city of Antofagasta in Region II and at 800 metres above sea level. It is an open-cast mine with crushing plants and facilities to treat oxide and sulphide ores.
It produced 72,100 tonnes of fine copper in 2011, including high purity copper cathodes and concentrates.
The Mantos Blancos division has a workforce of approximately 1,250 people, including company employees and operations and project contractors.
The leadership team for Mantos Blancos is six-strong and each executive is responsible for a different part of the division. Mantos Blancos regularly engages in community engagement initiatives that focus on education and training; regional development; community development; and communication.
